School's with you for a short time, health is with you for life.

So, what is a healthy lifestyle anyway?

Your health is a crucially important issue that affects your quality of life both inside and beyond the classroom. A healthy lifestyle is not just about avoiding hot chips and ice creams. Nor is it just about playing footy on the weekends.

A healthy lifestyle is also about maintaining a healthy state of mind. This means looking after your body, mind and soul, leading a happy and balanced lifestyle and building friendships and support networks.

Your school should provide an environment where good health is promoted and support networks are fostered. The information in this section can help you:

  • access information about health policies in your school; and
  • gain ideas about how to make your own policy initiatives.
