  Current and recent professional activities:
Jonas Emanuelsson currently holds a post-doc research position financed by The Swedish Research Council. His research in various projects has been related to students' learning and teachers‚ teaching in mathematics and Science. In his PhD he investigates how teachers‚ questioning in the classroom makes it possible for them to learn about their students' ways of understanding the content taught in mathematics and science. His interest within the LPS-project mainly concerns cultural variation in relations between learning and teaching. Another interest within the project concerns the coordination of two different theoretical positions on classroom interaction:

*Interaction analyses within a conversation analytic framework (e.g Schegloff, 1996), adapted for educational research (e.g. Sahlström, 2002)

*The theory of variation (e.g Marton & Booth, 1997; Runesson 1999; Emanuelsson 2001.)
