Reading Documents
Many resources within this site are in pdf form. Portable Document
Format (pdf) documents are more suitable for printing than htm documents.
Pdfs require the Adobe Acrobat Reader to be installed on your computer.
If you are viewing the files in Netscape or Internet Explorer, then
these require the appropriate plugin. Aside from just viewing these
documents in your browser, you can zoom in and out, and print from
there, using the tool-boxes at the top of the document.
If
the Adobe Acrobat plugin is not installed on your computer you can
download a copy from the company
site or from the software folder as described below.

ATTENTION: USERS
OF INTERNET EXPLORER 5.5+ ON WINDOWS
THIS INFORMATION DOES NOT APPLY TO MAC USERS OR NETSCAPE USERS
As Microsoft Internet
Explorer for Windows, versions 5.5 SP2 and 6.0 no longer support
components of QuickTime movies, Internet Explorer 5.5+ users
may need to download an ActiveX control from the Internet.
Please visit http://www.apple.com/quicktime where you will
be prompted to download and guided through the installation
of this control if you do not already have it.
NOTE: If you are not
prompted to download the control you will not need it and
will be able to view the QuickTime movies as normal.
If you are still having
problems viewing the movies, you can view the CD-ROM via Netscape
instead of Internet Explorer. A copy of Netscape can also
be downloaded form the Internet by visiting http://www.netscape.com
and following the prompts to get to the download page.
|

Explorer users may need to check that the following option

authors intended.
-

Bar, click the 'Edit' drop down menu, and choose 'Preferences'.
-
In the 'Web content' menu tick

|
ATTENTION: USERS
OF NETSCAPE
This CD-ROM can be viewed
using Netscape 6+ on a pc but we have not provided it on the
CD-ROM due to licensing requirements. We do not recommend
that prior versions of Netscape are used due to potential
formatting problems which include the main body text appearing
in an extremely small font and table borders not displaying
which can give the pages a confused look.
NOTE: The text size
can be adjusted in your browser preferences, see further information
below.
A copy of Netscape can
also be downloaded from the Internet by visiting http://www.netscape.com
and following the prompts to get to the download page.
WARNING: The Quicktime
videos will not run from this CD-ROM with Netscape 6 on a
Macintosh. They will run with the pre-release version of Netscape
7.

Troubleshooting
If you have any problems viewing any of the
pages or movies on this CD-ROM, please read all of the sections
on this page and then read below.
If any of the movies have intermittent problems
with sound quality, wait until the movie has finished playing and
then press the play button to replay the movie. The sound should
now be clear. This problem may be due to a temporary lack of memory
available for use by the program.
If your computer reports an error message
such as 'run time error' or 'illegal operations' this may be due
to insufficient memory on your computer. Be sure to close down all
unnecessary programs while running this CD-ROM to minimise the potential
for these errors. Also make sure that any additional browser windows
which you may have opened are closed!
If you are running Internet Explorer 5.5
or above on a PC, please see the section Essential
Software.
